I'm Caroline, and I am, admittedly, a hopeless romantic...
always have been, always will be.

Born and raised in Georgia, I moved to Denver in 2009 after falling in love with the easygoing culture that exudes from this place - actually, if I'm being honest, it all started with the weather. Some time after settling here, however, I decided it was time for a new direction in life, back to the simpler things.

For as long as I can remember, the art of handwritten personalization has brought a sense of nostalgic comfort to my hectic life. In a world that is losing all familiarity with handwriting, I realized I'd rather lose myself in a time that revered the learned skill as a cherished art form.

Chalk and slate. Ink and paper. Paint and wood. What could be simpler than that?
Well, don't get me started on sweet tea and rocking chairs...

handwritten. handcrafted.

What does it mean to be a handletter..er?

I want to bring a handwritten touch to all that visually inspires happiness in your world. Vague, yes, but I'm not one to pigeonhole, but rather one that allows your hand drawn ideas to blossom into areas of your life that you wouldn't have originally considered. Think not only menu boards, wedding signage, and mailings, but also directionals, furniture, murals, overall works of art... If you've ever asked yourself if something might look more handsome with a name scrawled across it or a quote weaved into its design, you're right. Just ask, and I'll provide options for bringing that dream to fruition.

What is the process for ordering a custom piece?

All projects have to start somewhere, right? Let's start by asking the question. Simply click the link at the bottom of this page to submit your commission inquiry, and we can discuss from there. Please remember to include as much detail as you can regarding your grand vision so that I can provide a more accurate estimate when the time comes.

What is the pricing for this sort of thing?

Because all orders are custom, so is the pricing. Pricing can fluctuate based on such things as materials provided vs. custom built, time involved, detail required, travel, etc, but we will discuss all of those variables when building your order.

You're located in Denver; will you travel to write or ship finished pieces to me?

Travel depends on distance and will be considered on a case by case basis, while shipping is definitely an option. Keep in mind that either might alter your estimated cost.

Are there any non-custom pieces for sale?

From time to time, yes, and browsing opportunities will be advertised when items come available. Stay tuned! (psst...follow @blankslateco on instagram!)
